To give disrespect of another person by judging someone by their nature or origin is how it becomes part of everyone’s life. Have you ever heard the term “never judge a book by its cover?”
Discrimination is an issue that everyone has concerns about; whether it be age, race, religion, gender or any person different than another. To judge a person on how they look, how they act, or even how they smell is discrimination. Many do not want to bring up the topic or words because of the past and the outcome of the future. There are many different ways we can use discriminating words. How we treat people in todays society is how we can overcome our fear of letting people know that our world has different cultures and not to judge a person on the outside; it is what is it on the inside that counts.
In our divers culture today there should not be any discrimination against another, but you would be surprised at how many people are discriminated against. Most people are aware of the fact that people have rights and equal opportunities. Although there are many ways to describe discrimination in todays’ society; the fact is that many people are still are getting abused in many ways. For example if there is a person who has a disability that cannot perform a job duty and is released from that position and that is discrimination.
For more than a decade people have struggled for the right not to be in a place where they will be judged or characterized by how they are.
Racism is discrimination against people of colour. It is distinguishing the differences between human being. To be in a position that prohibits someone to do their job because of their race or color of their skin; is discrimination. There are many ways people can (beat around the bush) “If I may say.” by just giving that disgusting look that people get when something smells bad; you can sense that you are getting treated in a different way. It hurts when someone gets put down because of their color.
Gender is discrimination toward the opposite sex. Stereotyping held by society is in many ways whereby women workers still are getting paid only 70% of what the men make. It is hard to get a pay raise or climb the corporate ladder. Many employees do give the promotions in the increasing gender society, but there are people out there that think the women should stay in the kitchen.
Age is discrimination that adolescent or minorities have a lower standard of grasping the whole concept of having responsibilities’ that many are put in a group of the careless teenagers. Even employer have discrimination against the age of the work force, although in todays’ society many minorities are responsible enough to become one of the best employees at a job.
Nevertheless, there are many who have discrimination against a person over the age of 50; many employers do not like to hire a person who is at of age or they are ready to retire. The employer has discriminated against people who cannot keep up with the work force. They believe that the person cannot perform the techniques that the job requires.
Religion is discrimination, although people who believe in God or Mary are the one who are going to be saved. There is a discrimination of different types of beliefs that one will say God will save us and another would say that Mary will come to save us all. There are many ways in which you could say that one religion is better than the other, but matter at hand of discrimination each religion has different outlooks on how the world was created and how we are all going to be saved.
Many of society keeps discrimination on a low level of secrecy, but the fact is that we all have been discriminated against in one point and time. What better way to reduce societys’ outlook on what is right and what is wrong. Many fear the potential risk involved in the discussion of race, age, gender and religion. The possibilities of our future are endless; if we can put our discrimination aside and look on the bright side of the people around us.
Many keep the rude and insane comments to themselves in todays’ society, but it is still out there for someone to abuse the personal space of another.
To judge a person about how they look, they smell, they live and putting them down for the way they are is discrimination. Many people would find it rude, ignorant, or just plain stupid to complain on how a person is.
ZAHziwa Entertainment
In a time when South African talent- whether in music, dance, poetry, film etc. is most sought after; most have tried to take advantage of the opportunity presented to them and amongst all those who are brave enough to embark on the journey; we have ZAHziwa Entertainment.
What ZAHziwa Entertainment tries to do is make sure that they take the art scene in South Africa and present it to the world via their YouTube channel- “ZAHziwa Entertainment-South Africa”. They have collaborated with numerous students from the University of KwaZulu Natal (Howard College) and have also gone further outside the province and collaborated with other artists from outside the University where they have an artist from Stanger in their books nor outside the province even; where they have a working relationship with artists from the Mpumalanga province.
The team of four is hardworking, determined and being able to see things in perspective in order to see the South African Art scene taking centre stage in the world, with a website coming our way, which can be expected by the end of the year and a very active online presence, we see ZAHziwa dominating their respective market.
We had the chance to talk to the company founder and these are some points that stood out:
●ZAHziwa is derived from her short name- “ZAH”, adding “ziwa” (pretty clever if you ask me).
●The idea for the company came-about when they started recording using their Samsung smart phone at events. ●The Company is made up of four individuals; and three of members of the company are from one family.

Nature is an integral part of our lives. But even while we appreciate the blessings she bestows on us, we forget that we are plundering her treasures and thereby denying our children the pleasure of enjoying nature in all her abundance and variety in the future.
The beauty of nature has been extolled in the works of poets and artists. When Wordsworth describes the daffodils dancing in the breeze or when our eyes alight on a painting by William Turner, our hearts are filled with an indescribable emotion.
If a mere representation can move us so much, imagine the power of the real thing. If you have seen Massachusetts during fall season when the leaves turn yellow, ochre, and red, you can never forget it in your lifetime.
Nature has myriad facets. It keeps changing from season to season, from minute to minute. If the sea was a bright blue in the morning, by noon it has become an emerald green hue. The colors of the sky keep changing throughout the day, from pale pink at dawn to a dazzling blue at mid morning and a bright orange by sunset and purple by twilight. Nature reflects our moods. When the sun shines, we feel happy and hopeful.
When the skies cloud over and the rain falls in torrents, we feel pensive. A balmy moonlit night can awaken the lover in us. Such is the transformative power of nature’s beauty. In the movie, ‘The Silence of the Lambs’, the cannibalistic psychiatrist Hannibal Lector who is in a maximum security prison tells Clarice Starling, the FBI officer, that he wants to be transferred to a facility where he can have a room with a window that looks out on the sky.
Even evil surrenders before the beauty of nature. It has been observed that patients in hospital recover faster if they are in a room with windows that offer a pleasant view. Beyond providing pure pleasure, nature’s beauty can therefore offer therapy for sick minds and bodies. So it is all the more essential that we do our best to preserve it for future generations.
Every time we cut down a tree, every time an oil spill despoils the ocean, let us remember that we are destroying the most precious inheritance we can leave behind for our children.

Its a known fact that most of the students need financial support in order to study. More especially when starting the Tertiary education/furthering their studies. Finances may vary with accordance to their sources. Some students may get money from their parents yet others may depend on Bursaries, scholarships and University financial Aid.
Before we go into details , let’s clarify a few differencea from these financial sources.
BURSARIES
Many companies and other organizations offer bursaries. These are usually awarded on the basis of merit or financial need. In most cases you dont have to pay back the money but you will be expected to work for the institution in saying the bursary. Some pay the full costs and some pay the partial costs. Make very sure what the bursary covers before signing any arguments.
SCHOLARSHIPS
A scholarship is awarded solely on the basis of merit. If you are a top student in your province or even internationally. Or have archived the highest rankings in some sport, ask teachers or coachs about such possibilities. Scholarships usually covers full costs of studying and in most cases you will not be required to pay back the money or work for the institution.
UNIVERSITY FINANCIAL AID
Universities have their own bursaries or scholarships and may also offer financial awards for outstanding academic performance. This is an often overlooked avenue for funding. Visit the financial aid office to find out what is available.
NSFAS
The National Financial Aid Scheme is by far the biggest source of student support in the country. It combines loans and bursaries. With parts of the initial loan being converted into bursary as you progress successfully towards a qualification. Their website is very good with clear explanations and instructions.
STUDENT LOANS
A student loans should be a last resort if all other options have been exhausted (including working immediately after school and delaying your studies). a student loan works like a personal loan, except that only interest is payable while you are studying. Think carefully before you decide to take a student loan, as it will have long term consequences. If you miss one or more payments, it will affect your credit rating.
